Timetable


 

Staging 9.30 a.m.-11.30 a.m.

Judging 11.30 a.m.-1.l5 p.m.

Doors open and refreshments available from    2.00 p.m.

Presentation of Trophies, Auction and Raffle approx. 3.30 p.m.

The auction is in aid of club funds. Produce left for auction will be appreciated.

Parking permissible in playing field near to hall in addition to car park, but please avoid the children’s play area.

 

No exhibit to be removed before 3.30 p.m.

*The Banksian Medal will be awarded for the highest number of place points in the whole of the horticultural classes at the show, i.e. Classes A, B, C, G, H (Year 2007 winner, Anne Pickering, and Year 2008 winner, David Russell, excluded).

Exhibitors in classes 90 & 91 should ensure their membership number is written on the back of their entries.

 

Class 91 rules:
Photographs should be no smaller than 6” x 8” and no larger than 10” x 8”.  They should be mounted on card but not framed (cheap mounts are available from places like Dunelm).

All photographs submitted must be your own work.  Digitally enhanced work will be accepted providing it is carried out by the photographer.

Please provide basic information about the camera used, i.e. Nikon digital compact, Canon SLR. Pentax 35mm film.

Please note .........
Entries must be staged by 11.30 a.m. on the day of the show.

Cards will be provided, one for each entry. Your membership number, class letter and number to be written on the underside - blank side up. A red “A” on top denotes for auction. No exhibitors names on entry cards.

Entry fee is 10p per exhibit and entries are limited to two per class per member excepting outdoor containers, classes 98, 99 and 100, when any number can be exhibited.

PRIZES. 3 or more entries per class - 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes.
Less than 3 entries -at the discretion of the judge.
1st prize 50p, 2nd prize 30p, 3rd prize 20p. Classes 98, 99 and 100 carry prizes of 1st prize £3, 2nd prize £2, 3rd prize £1.

Please collect prize money from Treasurer before 3 p.m.

Members may only exhibit their own produce except in Section F, Floral Art.

Pot plants and containers must have been in exhibitor’s possession for a minimum of three months. Members to provide their own containers.

All exhibits must remain completely staged until after prize giving at approximately 3.30 p.m. Anything left on the tables will be assumed to be for auction.

Challenge Cups should be returned to the Committee one month before the show.

Exhibitors are asked to name their entries for the interest of spectators.


HINTS FOR EXHIBITORS

The judges will be looking for fruit and vegetables in good condition, clean and fresh, without blemishes and of uniform size & colour.
