June Diary Dates:
Sunday 7th June:- Orleton Village Fete
We really need your help, even just for a short while – Please add your name to the list that is being circulated this evening.
We would like volunteers to man the plant stall. We also require volunteers to sell raffle tickets for the planted containers, working any time between 1.00pm and 4.00pm.
It is vital for all members to please bring us something to sell. Seedlings, house plants, sweet peas, shrubs, gooseberries, rhubarb and especially vegetable plants. We will be on the recreation ground from 10:00am. Let’s make it a record year!
Wednesday 10th June:- Club Outing to Aberglasney
As I go to print there are very few spaces remaining on the coach. Please speak to Shelley Choat if you would like to join us. (Coach leaves Orleton Village Hall at 8:30 am.)
Tuesday 23rd June:- Midsummer Show
A second form is being circulated this evening – Yes, another plea for volunteers please! Stewards this time.
Even if you have never stewarded before, don’t worry, you will be working in pairs and there will be a briefing before the evening event begins.
If you have received this newsletter via our web site, you will find the Midsummer Schedule listed in the menu. By clicking on the highlighted text you will find a printable version of the document and we would ask you to print your own copy.
For members not using the internet, there are a few remaining show schedules available tonight – contact Sue Brown if you haven’t been able to get a copy.

Another Club Outing?
The committee would like to know if you would be interested in visiting Stockton Bury Gardens near Kimbolton in early September. A third (!) form is circulating this evening to gauge interest. Please write your name, then tick one or both dates to indicate when you would be able to join our proposed outing. This would be using our own transport, shared where possible.
IF we receive enough positive response, we will try to arrange an outing. We have not yet approached Stocktonbury as we would like to do this as a private group visit on a day when they do not usually open to the public. So, this is not definite, we would just like to know possible numbers.
Budding Photographers
Barbara Mark in Orleton is looking at the idea of collecting data, via photos, of plants and animals. Gardens must be one of the best places in the country for wildlife. With that in mind she was wondering if anyone who has a digital camera might be willing to become part of a data collection group for gardens in this area? It would be brilliant to have a month by month collection of photos of people’s gardens. It could be just a big picture of the garden or more close-ups of plants and animals. Barbara would welcome any help with this project. Please contact her on 01568 780842
Chris Beardshaw
Tickets are on sale this evening. Please see Shelley Choat. These tickets are only available to card-holding, paid up members at present and you will only be able to purchase one. The price is £7.00. Tickets sold to members are non-transferable. Details for guest tickets will be given at a future date. Please do not ask to be put on a waiting list for guest tickets - this is not an option.
