Thanks To All those who helped at the August show. It would not be possible without you.
Monica and Julian Todd for opening their garden on September 2nd. Despite the weather everyone had an enjoyable afternoon and we raised enough funds to be able to send £150 to Megan Baker House.
Caroline Seaman, Dianne Hughes and Barbara Addyman for preparing this evening’s refreshments and to Martin Page for helping to set up.
Congratulations To All those who won prizes at the Annual Show in August. A full list is on the web site and on the notice board. Don’t Forget… This evening the speaker is John Edgeley and his subject is “Grow your own Fruit.” Titley Lunch Once again, we have arranged our Club lunch at The Village Hall, Titley. The date for your diaries is Sunday 1st November. Forms are available on the web (look under outings or Programme 2009) and from Monica Todd this evening. Please make your selections from the menu and return your forms together with a cheque as soon as possible.
An Evening with Chris Beardshaw
Although we have 3 volunteers for refreshments on the evening, the committee feels that further assistance would be welcome as we feel sure that it will be very busy. Also as this is a special occasion, we would like to offer home-made cakes as well as the usual biscuits. Please let Monica Todd know if you are able to make a cake for us. (Expenses will be reimbursed)
Tonight, those of you who have already purchased your own ticket will be able to buy one guest ticket if you wish. The cost of a guest ticket is £12. If there are any tickets left after tonight, you will be able to purchase further tickets for £12.00. If all the tickets are not sold by the beginning of October, we will be offering the remaining tickets to other local gardening clubs. This will be your last chance to be sure of getting a ticket!
Seed Order
Monica Todd has the seed order catalogues this evening. Please note, the order must be placed with Monica by 16th November at the latest.
At the time of writing, the order forms are not available and will follow in a couple of weeks.
“Let’s Grow” - Morrisons Vouchers From now until 1st November, Morrisons Supermarkets are issuing ”Let’s Grow” vouchers. For every £10 you spend in-store, you’ll receive a voucher that schools can collect and redeem for brand new gardening equipment including seeds, spades and greenhouses.
If you are not already supporting a school by saving your vouchers, please hand in as many vouchers as possible to one of the committee members, here, at the gardening club, and we will ensure they are passed on to Orleton School. Please hand over as many vouchers as possible by the October meeting, or ensure they reach a committee member by 13th November latest.
Things to do, Places to Visit - There is a leaflet on the notice board telling us about Garden Tours in Languedoc, France. This may well interest you. Perhaps we could even organise a trip if there was enough interest!
