Kate Roud is the Gardener-in-Charge for the National Trust at Croft Castle in Yarpole. She wondered if any of our members would interested in volunteering in the gardens at Croft. She is especially in need of someone to help with mowing and edging. She currently has a team of twelve volunteers who are fantastic people and come in to help on a Tuesday or a Wednesday, or sometimes both! Their help and company is very welcome as Kate's is a single-handed post and she wouldn't get much done without them!

Kate says:
"Once a volunteer has done 50 hours they get a volunteer card which entitles them to free entry for two people to any National Trust property and a 20% discount in our shops and tea-rooms. We have a great working atmosphere, an outing each year and other social events and occasionally I bring in a home-made cake! "

Plants are also sometimes available if they have spares after lifting and dividing. What more could you ask?
